ContentKeeper Live Trace

Doing a live trace in ContentKeeper is the best way to troubleshoot why a website is being blocked or if certain components within a website are being blocked.

  1. In a web browser navigate to https://filter.northernyork.org
  2. Log in using your credentials. If you don’t have credentials you will need to contact the IU helpdesk

  3. Click into “REPORTING”

  4. Click “Live Viewer” on the left

  5. Click “Pause” at the top

  6. Enter the username of the person having the issue. This will be in the “@northernpolarbears.com” email address format due to Chrome being used.
  7. Click “Resume”

  8. Have the end user navigate to the site with the issue or do so yourself after remoting into their device
  9. Watch for any blocked actions in the live viewer. If there are none, this is an indication that the issue is not ContentKeeper and rather a possible issue with the website or possibly their home internet connection.
  10. Note what is blocked so you can unblock it. There is a guide on how to unblock things in ContentKeeper.
